Ticket Purchase Terms and Conditions

I. KEY DEFINITIONS
- Portal – the website edzukija.lt, which provides services for purchasing electronic tickets and topping up the electronic wallet for public transport passengers of Alytus City, Alytus District, Varėna, Lazdijai and Druskininkai municipalities.
- Electronic ticket (e-ticket) – a time-limited public transport ticket (monthly or seven-day), purchased on the Portal and activated on the Passenger's electronic card (physical or virtual). The electronic wallet funds can also be used to pay for single journeys.
- Electronic wallet – an electronic account linked to the Passenger's card, to which funds are transferred and used to pay for public transport journeys.
- Wallet top-up – transfer of funds to the Passenger's electronic wallet via the Portal.
- Passenger (Buyer) – a person who has purchased an e-ticket or topped up their electronic wallet on the Portal.
- Seller (Ticket Distributor) – Uždaroji akcinė bendrovė „Kautra", which administers the Portal edzukija.lt and provides e-ticket sales and wallet top-up intermediary services.
- Carrier – the public transport service provider of the municipality. Information about the specific carrier is indicated on the Portal and in the purchased e-ticket.
- Privacy Policy – the personal data processing rules applied by the Seller, which are considered an integral part of these Terms. It can be accessed at: https://edzukija.lt/en/privacy-policy.
II. GENERAL PROVISIONS
- These Terms set out the conditions for purchasing e-tickets and topping up the electronic wallet, as well as the mutual rights, obligations and liability of the Seller and the Passenger.
- The Portal provides services for public transport passengers of Alytus City, Alytus District, Varėna, Lazdijai and Druskininkai municipalities.
- Timetable viewing and account login are available to all Portal visitors. E-ticket purchases and electronic wallet top-ups are currently only available to passengers of Alytus City, Lazdijai and Druskininkai municipalities. Agreement to the Terms is confirmed by ticking the box "I have read and agree to the ticket purchase terms and conditions" during registration.
- The Seller has the right to unilaterally amend these Terms at any time. The amended Terms come into effect from the date of their publication on the Portal. Passengers are advised to periodically review the latest version of the Terms.
III. SERVICE PURCHASE PROCEDURE
- The Portal allows the purchase of:
- Time-limited e-tickets – valid for a set period in the selected municipality.
- Electronic wallet top-up – transfer of funds to the card-linked electronic wallet.
- To purchase services, the Passenger must create an account by providing their name, email address and password. Users who already have an account log in with their email and password.
- Before purchasing a service, the Passenger must provide correct data: name, email address and electronic card number (for physical card holders). The Seller is not responsible for consequences arising from incorrectly provided data.
- The Passenger must complete payment within 15 minutes of placing the order. If payment is not made within the specified time, the order is automatically cancelled.
- Upon payment confirmation, a confirmation is sent to the Passenger's specified email address. The service is considered duly provided when:
- In the case of an e-ticket – the ticket is activated on the Passenger's card.
- In the case of a wallet top-up – the funds are credited to the Passenger's electronic wallet.
IV. PAYMENT PROCEDURE
- Payment is processed through the Swedbank payment system. Available payment methods are indicated in the payment window and may include internet banking and payment cards.
- When choosing to pay by internet banking or payment card, the e-ticket is activated or the wallet is topped up immediately after successful payment confirmation.
- Upon payment confirmation, a payment confirmation is sent to the Passenger by email. A VAT invoice is sent upon the passenger's request.
V. USE OF E-TICKETS
- The validity period and start date of a time-limited e-ticket depend on the municipality and ticket type. Exact validity conditions are indicated when purchasing the ticket on the Portal. Electronic wallet funds have no expiry date.
- Time-limited e-tickets are valid only in the municipality for which they were purchased. Electronic wallet funds can be used in all municipalities participating in the Portal.
- The Passenger must have a valid electronic card with an active ticket, validate the ticket on the card validator at the start of each journey, and present the card to the inspection officer or driver upon request.
- E-tickets with state-subsidised discounts may only be purchased by persons holding a valid document confirming entitlement to the discount. Information about applicable discounts is published at www.ltsa.lt and on the relevant municipality's website.
VI. PASSENGER RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
- The Passenger must:
- Carefully read these Terms before purchasing.
- Provide correct and accurate data.
- Have a valid electronic card and ensure it is functioning properly.
- Protect the card from damage, loss or theft.
- Use the Portal without violating the rights of third parties and the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania.
- The Passenger has the right to:
- Receive email confirmation for each service purchased.
- Check e-ticket types and validity periods by logging into their account.
- Contact the Customer Service Centre regarding service queries.
- Return unactivated e-tickets in accordance with the Ticket Refund Policy.
VII. SELLER RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
- The Seller must:
- Publish up-to-date information on the Portal about the services provided, prices and validity conditions.
- Ensure secure payment processing.
- Activate purchased e-tickets and credit wallet top-ups in a timely manner.
- Notify the Passenger by email of successful payment and service provision.
- The Seller has the right to:
- Temporarily suspend the Portal's operation for maintenance or important reasons.
- Restrict the Passenger's access to the Portal if the Passenger attempts to disrupt the Portal's operation.
- Amend e-ticket prices in accordance with the decisions of the relevant municipal council.
VIII. LIABILITY OF THE PARTIES
- The Seller is not responsible for:
- The quality of transport services provided by the Carrier.
- Errors made by banks or payment systems.
- Consequences of telecommunications network failures.
- Consequences arising from incorrect data provided by the Passenger.
- If an e-ticket was not activated or a wallet top-up was not credited due to circumstances beyond the Passenger's control, the Seller is responsible for refunding the amounts paid.
- The Passenger is responsible for all losses suffered by the Seller as a result of incorrect information provided by the Passenger or breach of the Terms.
IX. OTHER PROVISIONS
- These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania.
- All disputes shall be resolved through negotiation. If agreement cannot be reached – in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
- All intellectual property rights to the information and software on the Portal belong to the Seller.
